Construction Flagger Killed on Job Site

A 45-year old woman died after being struck by a truck while working as a flagger in a construction zone.  Cathleen Geisinger, of Centerport, PA was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident earlier this month.  Her death has been ruled an accident.

Geisinger was an employee of Wexcon, Inc. on a crew that was installing water lines in West Lampeter Township for several months.  The incident occurred as the crew was cleaning up the site at the end of the day.  Geisinger was reportedly packing the back of a pickup truck when a fellow worker backed the vehicle over her. According to reports, the driver of the truck did not realize the woman was behind the truck.  Investigations by local police as well as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are continuing.

Construction work zones are often chaotic and it is critical that both crew members and motorists be alert.  If you or someone you know has suffered serious injury or death as a result of a workplace or truck accident, you may want to consider contacting a personal injury attorney to explain and protect your rights.
