Starbucks has decided to recall about 12,000 glass water bottles that have been declared hazardous and unfit for use by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Since these bottles have been reported to shatter and cause cuts to people’s hands, Starbucks is taking back the products and is offering purchasers their refunds in full. Product safety is extremely important, and it is lucky that Starbucks caught this product defect in time to save any others from being hurt.
Cancer Patients Harmed by Negligent Radiation Treatments
Two cancer patients recently died, not from the cancer they had been battling, but from overdoses of radiation that was supposed to be treating their shared condition. Throughout the country, as many as 284 people have been given the wrong amounts of radiation, making this kind of misdiagnosis a huge national crisis. Patients should never have to feel unsafe with the doctors that are supposed to help cure their ailments, and more doctors need to exercise caution in their procedures so that these same terrible mistakes do not happen again.
Construction Accidents
Few people realize that 20% of all work-related deaths happen in the construction industry, making this the third most dangerous industry to work in. These deaths are often the result of falling from high places like roofs, being hurt in vehicle collisions, or being burned or electrocuted while on the job. Anyone who has suffered injury or who has lost a family member in this type of work-related accident should seek out a lawyer who focuses on liability for construction accidents.
